SatcoDX and autoscan station

I have a subscription to a magazine called Tele-satellite (www.tele-satellite.com).  This made me discover lots of informations on the world of satellites.  With this subscription you receive a cd-rom from satcoDX with all channels avaialble on each satellites.  A great tool.

They contacted me in april 2007 asking me to become an autoscan station for North America.  There is already a station in New York but it is a good thing to have at least two.

All satellite data in satco dx charts is gathered by AutoScan Stations located around the world. A SatcoDX AutoScan station consists of one or more fixed dishes, a PC that is connected to these dish(es) and is running SatcoDX's proprietary scanning software, and a permanent Internet connection to feed scan results to our main SatcoDX servers. AutoScan stations operate continuously 24/7/365 and usually scan each satellite at least once every 3 hours.

So I decided to accept the offer and if you go to this page you will see all autoscan stations around the world.  Mine is Quebec 1 and Quebec 2.  This is a great way to help maintain the database accuracy and I have been able to work with great people.

Take the time to go check the web site at http://satcodx.com/eng/ you will see that there is lots of informations.  Also if you are interested you can subscribe to tele-satellite at their web site http://www.tele-satellite.com/eng/
